The property
This modern barn conversion is set on the higher slopes at Shells, a collection of holiday cottages set in several acres of grounds in rural countryside near the Somerset village of Washford & Williton. Complete with private garden and hot tub, this cottage has lovely rural views and is ideal for a group of four looking for a relaxing holiday near the coast. All the rooms are on the ground floor with an open plan living room which is made attractive by the vaulted beamed ceiling, plentiful windows and laminate flooring throughout. The two bedrooms share a stylish Italian marble-lined wet room with underfloor heating. At the rear of the cottage there is a partially covered private hot tub, serviced daily by the owners who are members of BISHTA (British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association), providing an extra special touch for your relaxing holiday near the sea.
About the Location
Washford is a West Somerset rural village, on the A39 between Minehead and Bridgwater. Located two miles from the pretty coastal port of Watchet, this is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor National Park and The Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many pretty coastal and inland villages to explore including Porlock with its steep hill and pretty winding streets, Dunster with dramatic castle perched above the historic village and the busy resort of Minehead with sandy beach, golf course and traditional seaside attractions. An excellent choice of holiday destination for rural beauty, dramatic coastline and splendid walking. There is also Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery and Co2 Pistol Shooting for larger groups to enjoy (advance bookings only, contact for more information.) The pretty port of Watchet, two miles away, is an ideal place to wander the shops, explore the coast path or visit the Tropiquaria zoo. The North Somerset Coast Path provides spectacular walking, the historic village of Dunster offers a NT-owned castle which dominates the narrow winding cobbled streets of the village, and families will probably want to enjoy the fun at the beach resort of Minehead, a 15 minute drive from this Washford cottage, with a sandy beach, promenade lined with arcades and shops, plus a departure station for the West Somerset steam railway. A luxury Washford cottage near the North Somerset coastal area and Exmoor.
